Virtual studio

What is LED virtual production? Traditional virtual production involves filming actors in front of a green screen and adding backgrounds and visual effects to the scene in post-production. With LED walls, the background is displayed behind the actors and the physical scene.

Advantages of virtual production

The director and creators can directly see the shooting environment and make on-the-spot adjustments on the fly. Huge scenes can be filmed in a small space, saving time and energy for stage transitions. The hard nuts of normal Chroma Key editing can be solved, including translucent glass.

Lights can be accurately represented and effects on reflective bodies can be realistically depicted.

Cost saving

Virtual production can potentially reduce costs associated with filmmaking. For example, it eliminates the need to build physical assemblies and can reduce the costs of site finding, transportation and logistics.

What is the difference between green screen and virtual production?

In a traditional film or television production, the actors perform in front of a green screen, which is then replaced by computer-generated images in post-production. In contrast, in virtual production, CGI is created in real time using game engines such as Unreal Engine.

How much money does virtual production save?

And let’s see if we can analyze that and use virtual production,” says Lauren Gianetti, VP of Business Development at Brandstar Studios, “And we did a cost comparison [for] about six different cities … in five of the six we definitely saved … about 30 to 40 %.”
